  9. Im american and Im well aware of that. But Guess who coined the term “Soccer”? English immigrants. And the reason why we call OUR version of rugby as American Football is because in the mid 1800’s we basically took rugby but used a round ball instead. So we’ve got no choice but to call it soccer. And besides, Australia calls it soccer, Canada does, and so do some african countries So we aren’t alone. but i see what you are getting to. But i know the reason and im not trying to sound rude

    The term soccer is not correct, because the NFL could never legally take the name from associationFootball that used the term football before American football.
