Dutch player Danielle Van de Donk has left North London giants Arsenal to sign for Lyon in France. Her transfer was confirmed by the French club earlier this week. De Donk leaves the womens soccer scene in England to sign for Olympique Lyonnais Femininafter six years.
In 2015, Dutch midfielder De Donk signed for one of the best womens soccer teams in England, Arsenal. She joined Arsenal women from Kopparbergs/Goteborg and went on to become a regular fixture in the Gunners squad until her exit. While she was at Arsenal, De Donk won the League Cup title at the end of the 2017/18 season in addition to the 2015/16 FA Cup title. The Dutch player also played an important role as Arsenal finished the 2018/19 campaign with the league title popularly known as WSL (Women’s Super League). During the 2018/19 season, De Donk weighed in with the attacking return of 13 goals and eight assists in the league to ensure that the Gunners emerged as champions. Continue reading →
