FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off on June 6

The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off on June 6 and extends until July 5th. The U.S. Women’s National Football Team has revealed all of their matches that they will be playing before the tournament initiates.

Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, New Zealand, Ireland, Mexico and Korea Republic are all of the teams that the American side will be facing off before kicking off their campaign at the upcoming international competition which is going to be held in Canada.

The U.S.Women’s National Football Team has not been enjoying the best of times as they lost against France on February 8 and only managed to secure a goal-less draw when facing off with Brazil earlier in December.

According to the coach of the team, Jill Ellis stated that the team is going through a rebuilding process and this is just an evolution that takes time in order to complete and the results will not be arriving in a quick fashion.

“At this point, we’re in the process of evaluating and also building and that’s why we play strong teams, to test ourselves. It’s an evolution. There are certain phases we need to get better at, but we have to continue to grow as the rest of the world is continuing to be better,” said Ellis.

The defeat against France took a big toll on the American team as it was the first time in 17 matches that France had been able to defeat the U.S. Womens football squad.

The American side was pitted in Group D of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup where they will be locking horns with: Australia, Sweden and Nigeria and the team of Jill Ellis needs to secure snatching the 1rst or the 2nd spot in order to advance into the knockout stages and continue having a chance on winning the title.
