U.S. Women’s Soccer Win Facing Criticism

The national soccer team of U.S. women started Women’s World Cup registering a historic win over Thailand with the score 13-0. This history they created is this is the record number of goals made by any team in WWC both in the women’s or men’s category. And the second history was this was the victory with a huge margin in this tournament. Everything happened on the ground; still, some have raised questions on the sportsmanship of players. They are criticizing this team for celebrating goals and the history they have created with too much enthusiasm.

Among many commentators doing commentary for this match, raised issue joyous twirls of Megan Rapinoe, which she did after placing ninth goal in the match. On this an analyst of ESPN Taylor Twellman, who is also a former player men’s team the U.S. Twitted left a sour taste” in his mouth. CANADA TO FACE NIGERIA IN FRIENDLY

The FIFA Women’s World Cup is expected to hold in France and several of the qualified teams have begun preparations for the tournament. One of the tournament favourites Canada have been busy playing friendlies as they look to be in good shape for the tournament.

The Lawsuit Filed by US Women’s Soccer Team

The national federation of women’s soccer in the United States has launched a lawsuit for alleged gender discrimination. They have issued a press release stating that the lawsuit is not only about wages but also on how certain conditions need to be improved when it comes to sports for women. This is also to improve the participation of women on different levels.

The squad has 28 members and all have been named plaintiffs for the legal case. This was filed last month in federal court. The main grievance was stated to be the inequality of wages that are paid to the women players as compared to male soccer players. Even the men’s team of the US is supporting the cause. US Soccer Federation has stated that they are surprised that such a lawsuit has been launched. The president of this federation, Carlos Cordeiro stated that they have always strived to ensure equal pay. They have also taken up different investment avenues for development programs of female players.

US Women’s Soccer Concluded Year With The Win
